We probably don't. We give them driver's licenses in many states with no real proof of citizenship. Thanks to motor voter laws they are then registered to vote. Since the courts have blocked states from asking for ID at the polls it is just luck if one is caught.

Some states don't put anything on the license about citizenship and even if they do it is illegal in many states to ask for ID from voters. For years Tennessee openly gave DL's to illegals and we had people coming from all over the US to get one. We licensed thousands of illegals and registered them to vote. Now you are supposed to have to prove your identity to get a DL but it is a joke. "Proof" includes typewritten letters addressed to you at an address, utility bills in your name, a rental agreement in your name and just about any type of government issued card. I have watched people get licenses with no proof of anything. The DL offices often have hundreds in line and they don't usually spend much time arguing with people who claim not to speak English. In past years I arrested people who had several licenses all with their picture but with different names and addresses. Not hard here to get as many as you want and you get registered to vote in all of those names.

2LT Tom Waters, JD - My wife is English and there is nothing on her Florida license to say that she is not a citizen.

Stopping ILLEGAL voters can only be accomplished by VOTER ID requirement.

Yeah, good luck with that... Either they get caught like she did, or they do not... I am, however, curious as to what her motivation was...

2LT Tom Waters - O_O well... That would definitely explain it... And the voter registration issue...
