The whole University of Missouri situation could've been resolved people would talk to one another instead of at Each other

I think you are referring to our nation 1SG Scott MacGregor when you asked "Have we moved from "free thinkers" and welcomed opposing opinions to "group think and ostracize opposing opinions."
At first I thought you were referring to RallyPoint when I saw your question.
In any sizable group there will always be those who are drawn to leading or following group think. Remember the Occupy Movement which faded away after Obama was reelected. Expect more of what happened at the University of Missouri because they want to continue to expand the Progressive [extreme liberal] model of government at the Federal level and expand it to the state level where in most cases it has withered.
Thankfully in our nation and others with a long history of freedom, free thinkers will abound.
