First i like to say hello and thank you to all my fellow service members, so me and my wife are watching ncaa football games and i see that Army is playing Air force. Then a goofy question came to mind, the army, Air force, and Navy all have football teams so why is there no Marine football team. Could someone educate me about that im curious

The Marine Corps does have a football team: The U.S. Naval Academy, depending on needs of the Corps, commissions between 15-20% of Midshipmen into the U.S. Marine Corps. Since 2009 (I think), the Naval Academy incorporated elements of the Marine Corps into their jerseys --mainly adding the Corps' Eagle, Globe, & Anchor to the sleeve. So, Go Navy! Beat Army (again)!

SPC David S. - I like your optimism! But, please have the lads in Colorado Springs put a good shine on the C-in-C's Trophy before returning it to Maryland (this year).

Sure, the Marines are part of the Navy, so that is their team! Those who graduate from the naval academy have the choice to go into the marines. They are doing very well and I wish them the best. I am a West Pointer so Army is my team, the last time we beat Navy was when I was a Senior, 13 years ago. Go Army!

I'm not a USMA graduate, LTC David S. Chang, ChFC®, CLU®, but I naturally always pull for Army. Navy has a great record this year, Army is again struggling, so 12DEC15 will be another uphill battle. All that being said, Go Army, Beat Navy! LTC Stephen F.

yes we aren't having a good a year as Navy, and I do hope that they can win today and possibly be ranked in the top 25, then it will have more weight for the Army-Navy game. If we beat Air Force today, and Navy, then we can get the first commander-in-chief trophy since 1997!

Well, LTC David S. Chang, ChFC®, CLU®, it didn't happen against the USAFA today. I'll still be pulling for the Black Knights, though! Here's a pin that I've been wearing on game day since 1999! LTC Stephen F.

LTC Chang - Perhaps just semantics, but the Marine Corps is not part of the Navy, but part of the DEPARTMENT of the Navy just as the Navy is.

They don't have an Academy. They are a part of the U.S. Navy. Why doesn't the Coast Guard have a football team? Is it because they are all Navy cheerleader with their little poms?

LOL

The Coast Guard does have a football team. However they are NCAA Div. III instead of Div. I.
