Like most other cardio events, only way to get better is to do it...and a lot!

Ride, ride, and ride. Find an area, or course, that is that length and just keep riding until you meet your time. Also, remember to keep the same gear set on your bike when you do it.

Cycling is a whole lot different than running. Enroll is a cycling class, if they are available on post, and do then in lieu of PT. My wife does this.
