For those of you wondering "why horses?", there's a good reason. Horses are very perceptive of human emotions including love, curiosity, caring, stress, fear, etc. Not just any horse will do. Specially trained horses get matched to the individual. Their handlers understand horse body language pretty well. With a good match, the horse will bond and care for the person with PTSD, ADHD, and a variety of other conditions. They are a good bridge from where you are back to the real world, more balanced perception, and the ability to get out of your shell. Horses are selective of who they like and not. My son had a period (Aspergers, ADHD,) where this worked well to bring out the animal lover. He's completing his externship in Veterinary Tech studies. He's always had a knack with animals including nasty cats. So don't Poo-Poo equine therapy. It does a lot of good for a lot of people.
