The executive action would be intended to make it easier for people with criminal histories to be hired.

WASHINGTON -- Hillary Clinton would take executive action as president to "ban the box" within the federal government and for federal contractors, preventing questions about criminal history in the early stages of the hiring process for most positions, the Democratic presidential candidate will announce Friday.

A Clinton aide said the former secretary of state would make the announcement at a rally in Atlanta, as she rolls out her criminal justice agenda over the next few days.

President Barack Obama has called on employers to "ban the box" on job applications -- a reference to the checkbox that sometimes appears on such forms next to a question like "Have you ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or a felony"? -- but he hasn't prevented federal contractors from asking about criminal history in the early stages of the hiring process.

Sure. I am for giving criminals all kinds of access to government buildings and offices and possible access to sensitive information. What could go wrong? Where could the harm be?

MSG (Join to see), I see your point. After all they have been rehabilitated and are now fine upstanding citizens. I don't see any harm at all. NOT!

Ouch !! I find this hard to believe, Former First Lady, Former Sec. of State, Presently the Democratic front runner for President and she does Not see any security issues with "Banning the Box" on these application forms ? Lets just open the "Front door" or better yet, lets have a Government Document garage sale !! I Don't Think So !!

Yeah, and the first time a former criminal commits another crime the question will be Why did you hire this person.

Capt (Join to see), and the answer will be "to pander for votes".
National security takes a back seat to the quest for power on the left.

Capt (Join to see) , Capt Seid Waddell , Where the hell does she come up with this stuff? If a private company wants a criminal checkbox, it's none of the governments damn business. Slowly but surely they want our country to become a socialist country where the government runs everything. That alone should wake up her supporters to see her for what she is. But, it won't. They have on blinders.

I think it would be the only thing she ever got right. There's far too many people that have turned themselves around, got their head screwed on straight, ect that are prevented or overlooked from simple to mediocre jobs that they're capable of. All because they did something in a young age or weren't raised right.

The way I see it, our military used to take all those bad apples and give them a 2nd chance to make something of themself. And now, I believe we as a people in positions of authority should do the same thing.

Great and strong people don't kick the hurt ones while they're down. We help and train them up instead.
