SSgt Alex Robinson, I found that the Navy League of the United States organized the first Navy Day in 1922, holding it on October 27 because it was the birthday of President Theodore Roosevelt, who was a naval enthusiast.

I did not know. And honestly, I don't really care and I'm almost 100% certain most if not all Navy vets also don't care. The only day we care about is October 13, the Navy Birthday.
