I am trying to organize an APFT for a Soldier with a permanent profile that only allows the 6.2 mile bike. We have already attempted a normal bicycle test with poor results (traffic and terrain). It seems that these bikes are so few and far between that when you find one on a base, it's held under lock and key, and you have to go on a quest to find the keyholder (Lookin at you, Ft. Drum). The nearest bike to my duty location is longer than an hours drive away, and all the bikes I have ever seen have been in use longer than I have in the Army. I want to order a new bike, but the models that are currently in use I cannot find to buy for my unit. Does anybody know of any current models of bicycle ergometer that fit the criteria that a unit could buy?

You could also contact the local Physical therapy office.

Contact an AF base Health and Wellness Center (HAWC). The AF went away from the bike test and they may have one you could use.

I figured. ALO, Staff or student? I taught there from 1990-1996.

SFC (Join to see) - Good deal. I thought about taking one of the civilian instructor jobs. We miss Florida.

What about the post gym? There are many set ups that use regular bikes that hook up to a stationary trainer. I am sure you aren’t the only person in this situation.

Here are a couple. Wahoo even allows you to use the same gear cassette on the trainer so you can actually train on the bike you ride. https://www.cnet.com/health/fitness/best-indoor-bike-trainer/

Thank you for the answer, Sir.

At the time I asked this question, I was stationed on an Air Force base that did not have the proper equipment. We eventually did source an acceptable replacement
