NAVY Secretary Ray Mabus introduces the gender neutral uniforms for Navy women. It will now be. The same "Crackerjack" whites, and eventually blues, as the men, plus "Dixie Cups" and combination covers. Women will eventually have a "choker" dress white uniform for formal wear. No mention of the Marines or if their uniforms will also become "unisex." Whose on board with these historic changes, pun intended???

Always changing the uniform. The Navy changes uniforms like babies change diapers! When will this end?

Blues are a good idea. Replacing those items is expensive, especially the combination cover.

CPO (Join to see) - Wait until you see the cost of a new set of blues. There will be no real cost savings.

PO2 Nick Burke - Yes but the navy will pay for the first one and upkeep is a lot cheaper. In 4 years I haven't had to replace a dress uniform.

What are we trying to hide? Sorry SecNav if you don't want women or men in your Navy, well go hire some ROBOTS!! Men are Men and Women are Women and NEVER the two shall meet. Quit trying to satisfy everyone. The Navy has been changing uniforms for decades. When is this madness going to stop. I say NOW!! Dress a Male U S Naval Sailor Like a Male U S Naval sailor and a Female U S Naval Sailor like a Female U S Naval Sailor, Stop this madness and stick to the High standards of the U S Military.

Personally, I'd like to see Ms. Mabus, pick up his purse and take his constant worrying over gender issues and go away.

Unless there is a compelling reason for all these changes, these friggin civilians should stay out of the uniform business. For years we had uniforms that served a purpose, that revolved around the safety of the sailors that wore them. If the Navy ever gets into another serious Naval war, they will find out why we had cotton clothes that were easily repaired and stowed. What happens to synthetics when they catch fire?
