As shooting incidents seem to become more frequent what have you prepared yourself and your family to do should you ever be involved with an 'active shooter' in a public place? I have a friend (single mom veteran) who will be transferring to an online college program rather than risk dealing with a loner-loser who might 'go off' in a classroom? Suggestions on how best to prepare? Google 'bulletproof blankets' which are available for students.

Mass Shootings are "Statistically Unlikely" and are being portrayed in such a fashion as to cause mass hysteria, to promote a political agenda.
As I have said in other threads, Mass Shootings are not Criminal in nature. They are (generally speaking) the result of Mental Health (Medical) or Ideological issues. Simply put, you cannot account for Crazy.
Now all that said, Gen. Mattis said it best.

"Statistically Unlikely".
If you think about it, that doesn't make any sense as written.

Fortunately I live in a Constitutional Carry state where both my wife and I are prepared to protect ourselves then help others. We discuss 'what if' scenarios to enhance our situational awareness.

This pithy comment after listening to the shooter's father being interviewed and from another news website says it all:

Excellent advice, SSG Gentile. My dad loved model railroad sets, so I can imagine how many hours of time and sentiment you must have invested beyond just 15 years.
