Generally took 7-10 days for mail to get home from Nam. Much longer for packages from home.

Interesting post. i got a package from my best friend in high school Phyllis George who had just became Miss America 1970 when I was In Korea. It contained a chocolate cake, a jar of olives, and a long letter and picture of her with her crown signed Love Phyllis of course LOL Can anyone guess why a jar of olives??

What a great snapshot of the time. I'm sure the guy was in the shit a whole lot more than he told mum.
