Spent about 30 minutes looking this up in AR630-1, but to no avail. Cant seem to find it, or maybe just having a hard time doing so. Is it authorized to have OCPs tailored (altered, himmed, etc.) when no DX is available? In the reserves, things tend to move quite a bit slower. Budget is mostly focused on active duty.

AR 670-1 pg 1...
“ No item governed by this regulation will be altered in any way that changes the basic design, or the intended concept of fit, as described in AR 700–84, including plating, smoothing, or removing detailed features of metal items, or otherwise altering the color or appearance.”
I’d argue that the “basic design” is the key when identifying authorized alterations and modifications. Additionally, commander’s discretion.

The ole commanders' discretion. I thought that was only governing ASUs for some reason.

Your best bet would be AR 700-84. I’m at home, and I can’t pull it up though.

That's a good question. I guess it depends on how perceptive my leadership really is. They've never called anyone out on it before, even if they have altered their uniforms.
