G1 Uniform Policy has posted the attached to the G1 Uniform page at http://www.armyg1.army.mil/hr/uniform/ in order to provide clarity on what boots are currently authorized for wear in concert with the specifications outlined in AR 670-1. as long as a soldier can obtain proper fitting footwear through approved sources then there really isn't an issue, as for me, I HAD to wear Danner boots to get a proper fit, the terrible issue speedlace boots NEVER fit, very poor quality, now we have much better options. The Army should do more with private industry to get the best boots available, period.

CSM, thanks for a great resource prior to taking a NG unit to NTC...670-1 is a great NCODP class.

CSM, I have always worn issued boots. They fit and work fine for me. But I will certainly be using this for a reference.

For some reason Army issued boots hurt my knees and ankles, I wear Danner brand and they are really comfortable and durable
