What is a valid argument to convince a LtCol to sign my DD368 to do a lateral move into another branch?

Really? Can’t keep a job much. What do you really want to do? I would question the fortitude of your decisions. Why would DOD spend more money and a training slot for a guy who just jumps around. That’s is what you need to overcome. Good luck.

Piggy backing off of the COL here, but what are your current and long-term goals while serving in the military? I see that you were a prior service Marine, now an Airman, so my question is what exactly are you looking for out of the military? Figure that out, say it with conviction and there is your argument.

SrA (Join to see) Is there some reason you would not want to go back to the Marine Corps? The Army is also a different culture. Mentioning that the culture change is difficult for you to adjust to, might work if you were trying to go back to the Marine Corps. Wanting to now switch to the Army, might be a difficult or near impossible argument to make.

i would love to return to active duty Marine Corps, but at the time, and for awhile now they have not been taking back prior service Marines back to active duty. With that said I just came from doing almost 6 years with the Reserves in the Marines, and unfortunately at this time unless another war breaks out, the reserve component is my only option and it is my goal at this time to remain active duty

If you’re trying to go Army. A LTC is not the approving authority for your 368. Need to look at USAREC 601-210
