I've been looking for answers for a while now, and no one has really been able to point me in the right direction. Why is there no room for growth in the Signal Corps? Most Signal MOS' are over strength by a long shot, with most topping out at E-4/E-5 before they have to reclass to a different MOS entirely. Myself, who loves my job and what I do, is in this same boat and I'm not sure what rout to take. I keep hearing that the QMP board for 25 Series keeps getting pushed back which is causing a lot of confusion for myself and those in my current situation. If anyone has any information at all, it would be a great help to the younger soldiers looking for advancement opportunities.

My recommendation is this:

Make your own room for growth. Do everything in your power to earn those promotion points, get leadership experience, and broaden your knowledge. Look at all of the signal MOSes that appeal to you and find the best fit if you decide to reclass.

Will it be difficult? Yes

Will it make you a better soldier? Yes.

Will it be worth it in the end? That is up to you.

If you truly want to stay signal, you need to work within the current environment and make the best of it. Control what you can control.

I, most definitely, agree with you here. I'm not feeling much opportunity left for advancement, at least not for some time. I feel the same way about staying signal, as I also, enjoy what I do. I've been waiting on some possible opportunities for Cyber. As much as I enjoy the army, it is always good to remember there are always great opportunities to work for the army doing exactly what you do now, just without wearing a uniform everyday.
