The ERB being correct is a must. Ensure your unit/duty position history is correct. Duty positions need to be inline with your NCOERs. All the info that is on it needs to be as up to date as possible. Do a monthly scrub of it and update when needed. Waiting until the board, when everyone and the brother and sister wants to make their changes, will cause you to have increased stress. Also, do this for your subordinates. You are showing them that you give a shit about their records and you can pass on to them what to do for their Joes.

Board Members don't have a lot of time going through everyone's records. And it's not that hard to keep them up to date if you review them a few times a year. DO NOT wait until when the board is announced to make sure your records are G2G.

The DA Photo is big also. Besides ensuring that your ASUs fit, get a new one photo every year. If it hasn't changed, the reg says every five years. I took one every year. This ensures that you get all your new bling on the photo (ensure your ERB has said new bling) and it shows the board you give a shit about your records being updated. If you have new bling to put on your ASUs, but you didn't update your ERB to show new awards, don't have it on your ASUs during the DA Photo. Also, know what you can have on your ASUs for the photo. Some unit items can be worn (DUIs) and others you can't.
