How accurate are the unofficial promotion lists that come out and what are your takes on the lists?

Honestly thought that the "pre-po," or "ghost," or "knock," lists were done away with due to their tentative nature. Bad case in point used around any camp fire story is of a person who saw the list to make the next rank then went and made some bad decision (bought things outside of their supposed financial status, told someone how they really felt, etc., etc.) only to find out when the official list came out that they were not on it.

If you have one I would not believe it necessary because a few years back the CSM of the Army put out that any one leaking the list would be punished to the fullest extent. But on the good side tomorrow is the big day.
