Would a unit give a soldier going through a divorce barracks till the divorce is done?

I PCS'd to my new duty station without my wife due to divorce. She is currently still staying in military housing back at our old duty station. My new unit might not give me a barracks room. My main concern is if I don't get a barracks room and end up moving off post renting a room: will the army then give me single BAH or make me move into barracks?

So here’s the issue, usually, when you clear post, regardless of marital status, you have to clear the post housing. From my understanding, your wife would have to find housing on her own off the installation and provide you a lease to take to finance so that she would receive money for rent. You one the other hand would receive the without dependents rate. My advice to you would be to hurry up and finish the divorce

My main concern is how the hell is your spouse still in military housing if you've cleared housing?
You are not authorized to live in the barracks if you are collecting BAH unless you're OCONUS. I understand your concern is whether or not you'll get BAH while you're obligated to a lease. If you have a lease you are obligated to and you are no longer entitled BAH, you may request an ETP to continue your BAH through the end of your lease. It usually needs to be approved by your post commander. Your 1SG should be able to direct you to where you need to go to apply for it. Here in JBLM it's submitted through the housing office and approved by the Corps commander

Is your wife in military housing on a lease rather than a result of your status? Either way she should be moving out because her sponsor PCSed or at the end of the lease term. Get the divorce finalized soon and start getting her off the military installation and out of the system.
As for yourself work with your leadership to handle your short and long term housing situation. I’ve read on RP that many locations don’t require E5s to live on post
