Do you have to retake the asvab to reclass when re-enlisting? I want to reclass at the end of my 3 year contract. I already have the score needed for the MOS I want. I just want to know if I have to retake the test since it would be more than 2 years since I last took it.

Only if you wouldn't qualify for the MOS you seek to reclassify to, with your current scores.
Let's say you have a 125 GT score. You would qualify for every job that the army has. On the other hand, a score of 90 might limit your options. When you're in the reup window talk to your career counselor. He or she should be able to tell you what is needed to reclassify.

Depends on the MOS and whether it requires line scores that you lack.

My understanding is that your ASVAB is good for 2 years if you're NOT under contract. If you're currently enlisted though, it's my understanding that the scores are good indefinitely.
It never hurts to try and improve it though. It could open more doors for you depending on what you might want to do.
