I haven't been around RP lately, the political "scene" and obvious division between the only two "parties" triggers me big time. (No I don't want to discuss it. The subject itself and human behavior makes me want to fight, which is BAD) I get it, it's ME having troubles with things.

So, I figured I would stop back and say THANK YOU to all of you. The combination of this place, my adopted veteran brothers and sisters, and my own attempts to understand myself and at healing motivated THE talk with my PCP, and subsequently a neuro-psychologist (All out of pocket too. My "insurance" is absolute shit, and 84-88 was not the best time to be serving I guess) But I will file a VA claim now (intent to file is already submitted).

Regardless, I've been diagnosed with severe complex PTSD, and other issues. It's been forty years, might be time for changes...way overdue actually. As much as I hate to admit it, the medication is helping...

James, it's very good to hear that you're seeking assistance and that is is helping.

I echo what Lt Col Charlie Brown said about joining a support group. The possible benefits for you being able to share your experiences with those that can empathize with what you're going through are significant.

My only advice is if you try a support group and don't like it, give it another shot. If you truly dislike it, then try another group. The key is that you need to be comfortable with participating in the group and if there is a roadblock to that based on the dynamics of the group (people, structure, location, etc.) then give one with a different dynamic a try.
