**Happy Halloween from WFL!**
Hey everyone, can't wait to dive into the spooky spirit with you all at Kim's "Halloween Trivia" session tonight! Here's some fun Halloween trivia to get you in the mood:
- **Did you know?** Halloween has roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, where people lit bonfires and wore costumes to ward off roaming ghosts.
- **Trick or Treat?** The tradition of trick-or-treating started in medieval times with "souling," where poor people would go door-to-door offering prayers for the dead in exchange for soul cakes.
- **Pumpkin Origins:** Carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns is thought to have originated from an Irish myth about "Stingy Jack," who tricked the devil, and when he died, he was doomed to roam the earth with only a coal inside a turnip.
- **Costume Craze:** The custom of wearing costumes came from the belief that disguises would confuse and ward off spirits. Today, Americans spend about $3.2 billion annually on costumes!
Join us tonight for more trivia, fun, and perhaps some ghostly stories. Remember, this is a fantastic opportunity to connect, share, and support each other within the warriors' community. Whether you're a veteran, first responder, or a family member/caregiver, your stories and experiences are invaluable.
**Zoom Details for Tonight:**
- **Date:** Monday, October 29, 2024
