This is an updated version of the 'Cavalry Troop Reports Guide' that I have uploaded previously in photos (Cavalry Scout Group). I am leaving up the older photos in event someone wants to use that variant.
-----
Major difference is the removal of the Green 3 Report (Splash aka downed pilot) and addition of the Green 5 Report (MIJI aka electronic jamming/interference). This was done, as the likelihood of encountering a downed pilot is smaller chance, than possibility of encountering some type of electronic interference or jamming in training or on the battlefield.
This Green 5 is based off of CALL 17-20 Radio and Systems Operators Version 2 (AUG 2017) from the CALL (Center for Army Lessons Learned) website (https://call2.army.mil) , as the latest APT 3-20.97 Cavalry Troop does not contain a recent format (for trivia, the previous FM 3-20.971 2009 edition does mention the MJI Report however no format is given).
As this format is from 2017, I feel is fairly relevant and the most current variation. The FM 6-99 (Army Reports and Message Format) does contain a similar variant, however the latest FM 6-99 is from 2013.
-----
Some further formatting was done to the document for readability (Blue 7, Green 6, Red 2, Red 3 and Yellow 2A).
Additional descriptors were added to the Yellow 2A (40mm MK-19 vs M320 GL) and line 26 Pyrotechnic Signals was added. Technically line 26 is discretion of the unit, but I consider pyro signals near top of list for a resupply.
-----
I printed this on yellow paper (24 pound paper), as yellow is the color of the Cavalry. Also to avoid this guide getting lost in stack of other papers. I also laminated this with 3 mil laminate, which is thin enough to fold and not add too much bulk, but durable enough to last in the field (longer than normal un-laminated paper that is). With the the laminate Soldiers can also use map pens/sharpies and mark up if required.
-----
This reports guide is for anyone to use and design for their own specific unit.
My intent it to improve training and make my Scouts more effective.
