This was a bad move. We had a shipmate hit HYT because she was converted to a YN with a CTA-like NEC and her promotion test consisted solely of old-school YN questions.
I do believe something should have been done with CTAs because every CTA I met was also an SSO/ASSO and I don't know if that is necessarily appropriate for the CT rate as a whole, because they served every cleared sailor at the command.
