The term originated with civilian wear. There “shrink it and pink it” is a very real thing. Females pay more for less and it’s pink. Take a look at the razor aisle or try to find a decent hooded sweatshirt. The female version will be of lighter fabric and cost more.

Easy solution. All males will identify as women and all women will identify as men for half an year and then switch back for the other half. That way the amount spent on men's and women's uniforms will equal.
