Why It’s Important To Fix RV Problems Yourself

Proof DIYRV.com has a sick sense of humor. This article hit my inbox today.
This morning I was replacing the surge protector fried in last week's monsoon.
We are loaded up, tanked up, washed up and ready for next week's start of our fall trip. But no live 30amp, no live 50amp. Wallowed around with a multimeter and finally found three toasted diodes on the EMS board. Likely from surge protector failure. Looked on the big "A". Looked elsewhere. Called the mfg. Backordered two weeks. So three diodes the size of rice grains on a circuit board smaller than my cellphone, turns Miss Winnie into a 33,000lb yard ornament for 2+ weeks.
Looking favorably at our old tent. A little stained, but it doesn't have circuit boards.

That's DIY's picture not mine.
We have a new-to-us Class A DP. But they ALL have problems sometime. (Even our tent has 15 - 20 iron on patches.) When they're not broke, they are sweet!
A good rule if you're thinking RV - If you ain't handy, you better get handy.
