Yay Team Biden/Harris! Way to go in lowering our SPR!
The Biden/Harris willingness to weaken the country is noted. What utter failures.

actually the reserves are not at a historically low level. They have been lower than the present 380 million barrels as of 13 sept 2024. Check your info before posting BS

SPC Jeff Daley, PhD - All you have to do is check the data provided by the EIA which is what I did to see if your post was correct. It was not. The data I looked at which you can also look at shows at the latest report of Sept 13 2024 with reserves of over 380 billion barrels of oil. You will see 2 charts . One chart with a line graph and one with weekly reports from Aug 1982 to present.

SGT (Join to see) - The data in my post was accurate for the time frame delineated. When updated to the last report date your data report includes September 13, 2024 data.
The Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) and the Energy Information Administration (EIA) serve different purposes in the context of U.S. energy management and statistics, which can sometimes lead to discrepancies in reported data.
Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR)
The SPR is an emergency stockpile of crude oil maintained by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
Energy Information Administration (EIA)
The EIA is a statistical agency within the DOE responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating energy data.
In summary, while both the SPR and EIA are integral to U.S. energy policy and management, their distinct roles can result in differences in reported data regarding petroleum reserves.
As of September 13, 2024, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) of the United States holds approximately 380.6 million barrels of crude oil. This figure represents a significant decrease from its historical peak, with a reduction of about 346 million barrels (or 47.62%) since January 2010.
