Great thoughts to day COL Mikel J. Burroughs. Going to add an obvious one- Just do it. Nike
Not about doing your best per se- but about taking action. So often we are stuck in the analysis paralysis that we don't do anything. Can't do our best if we don't try at all. Happy Tuesday sir.

Sgt Vance Bonds - Just analyze enough to make good choices and then don't be afraid to act on a decision. "Just do it" is my favorite too.

Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs. You mentioned "Doing Your Very Best Day."
Small beginnings :-)
I will be doing my best to drink no coffee or caffeine today in preparation for my Pharmacological Stress Myocardial Perfusion Imaging Test [Pharmacological Thallium stress test] tomorrow morning.
Throughout the day I will be doing my best to demonstrate my love for God by loving each of those HE brings into contact with me today.
I hope and pray for compassion and grace to today to give. Those are areas it is much better to give than to receive :-)
I will be doing my best later today as I pick up 120 pound Akita pit-bull mix dog Mr. F with his care tonight and take him to my mother-in-laws hose where we are staying.
Mr. F will be here until Wednesday night - after we get back from Dort Belvoir Community Hospital I will take the dog back to my youngest sons.

Thanks for sharing some very appropriate quotes:
1. Charles F. Bolden optimistically stated "Always do your best in whatever you do; set goals and seek challenges; become a role model for those coming behind you; and always have God in your heart."
2. Ever hopeful Lori Deschene encourages us "At the end of the day, remind yourself that you did the best you could today, and that is good enough."
3. Richelle E. Goodrich poses an intriguing thought "I believe people are more inclined to do their best, not when they feel loved, but when they feel loved regardless." Being loved regardless of what we say and do is done perfectly by God and less perfectly by those who truly love us.
4. Og Mandino wisely states "Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later." —
5. Bethany Hamilton has the correct priority when she states first "Love God; love others; do your best in all you do, even if you fall short!"
Do your best and seek forgiveness when you fall short of the goal - first from God and secondarily from any you offended by ask of commission or omission.
I tried to think of an appropriate song for doing our best

Thanks for the encouragement my friend SSG Jon Hill. It has been almost 23 year since I went through a Thallium stress test. That time I was hospital patient and used the treadmill. This time I will need a chemical to speed up my heart rate for the test.
I expect it will be interesting. I know God is firmly in control.

SFC Greg Bruorton -in late March 2003, after my mitral valve surgery with complications [March 11-12 2003 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center], the chief cardiothoracic surgeon told me to stop drinking coffee. I learned later that he told that to everybody and my heart disease was not affected by caffeine per se.

LTC Stephen F. - That's good to know that caffeine hasn't affected your heart's health. The surgeon's response to all his patients was a blanket application.
So now, what have you decided? Taper off the coffee or continue as you have been?
As you may know, my reason to stop consumption of coffee and tea were entirely different as no physician had advised me to stop drinking the products. I'd be lying if I told you I don't miss my coffee; my wife shares that too. I don't miss my beer nearly as much as coffee.
Nevertheless, I pray that your heart will keep on ticking and your general health improves--despite the age.

Caffeine, as more recent research is showing, can be good for us, as long as like most things, we don't way overdo it.....glad you are healthy now!

My Mother taught us this one. It was an expectation and a promise. We counted on it; it gave us confidence. G’day COL Mikel J. Burroughs!

My grandma used to say, a job worth doing is worth doing well and to the best of your ability.
