It's funny that we don't have problems getting recruits in the army reserve in the Remote counties and States like Montana, Idaho or Wyoming but we do have a hell of a time trying to get recruits in areas like Seattle and I am talking before the current Civil War.
Taiwan should have more military service requirement since China is gearing up building 3 new aircraft carriers and expanding their military capability daily. That is why the USA sold over a 100 tanks, 800 anti-missiles and 60 F16 fighters. Taiwan was recently approved a large order of torpedoes from the USA. While AOC and others worry about climate change, I am worried about war that the USA may get involved in in the next 5 years.

Fair question. I am very aware that China is trying to foment unrest and striving forward to build their military might. Another concern is that China could also be building their Navy to project power into the Bering Sea area . This is especially concerning because Russia and China seem to be growing closer.

The kid sums it up best at the end of the article -- "If the United States takes more substantive action to help Taiwan, people would feel safer, but we can’t just rely on another country," Lai said. "America is a sovereign nation and has their own considerations."

This is a real problem but I suspect a lot of people are running scared.
