Lt. Norman Scott, mentioned in the article, went on to become a rear admiral in early WWII and was awarded the MoH for his actions in the Battle of Cape Esperance (11-12 Oct. 1942) and the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal (12-13 Nov. 1942). He was killed in action during the later battle when his flagship, the light cruiser USS Atlanta, was mistakenly hit by fire from the heavy cruiser USS San Francisco.

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. Very nice of the enemy to send a light for the Gunners to aim into!

The Jones did her job well I'm glad most of the crew survived.. It's too bad she didn't make it to Armistice Day. A tip of the cap to the sub commander's courtesy.

"In some ways, war used to be fought with a bit more honor and civility, didn’t it?"
This is a true reflection of everything these days... I think those two words (honor and civility) are antithetical to many today.
