Interesting article and suggestions. I don't believe that we need all 7-8 hours uninterrupted, but I do believe that most people don't get enough rest and sleep. The periods of rest in the article were much more restful than ours. we typically pack everything possible into a day and then try to sleep as little as possible.

How do you believe this article ties in with REMs levels of sleep and physical and mental recovery ?

SGT (Join to see) - Great question and I'm not smart enough to answer that off the top of my head. I'd have to look that up.

PVT James Strait - Yes, agree but I think he's asking if breaking our sleep patterns into 2 four hour blocks would have a negative impact on quality of sleep. (R.E.M.)
I need to try this and see if it helps with the insomnia I have fought for years. Thanks SGT (Join to see) for the post.

This site is probably my favorite blog. They cover everything excluding mainstream BS. Every article I read from them teaches me something valuable.

Tons of very interesting information. Also, glad to see that "psychology today" has been around for that many years. My sleep tends to be too "segmented" sometimes :-)
