It's a good article but you follow up by almost justifying slavery because it was common at the time. The real MVP is the governor and abolitionists who stood up against the practice during those times.

Don't justify slavery, simply point out that in 1700s the attitude towards it isn't what it is now, or even until the Civil War for that matter.

Okay SGT (Join to see) much ado about an oft repeated story IMHO.
In our modern culture slavery" is abhorrent yet slavery is more prominent now than it was in the 18th century - Islamic practices, sex slave trade, indentured servants for life, etc.
