This is long overdue protection for the Ploice Dogs. If I were a handler, I would be a little more relaxed knowing my dog was wearing a bulletproof vest.

YAY!!! Protect the Pooches! I'm so glad they did this. They need protection too since they are usually the ones first to discover the danger. Great job!

I was happy to read about the dogs are being more protected with these vests. I just hope they don't make the too hot and uncomfortable TSgt Melissa Post. Thanks for that yahoo, response. ;-)

One of the major issues with dogs is over heating. I hope this trend does not up the casualty count due to heat issues. I know it is due to careless handlers, and they should have never been given a K-9 in the first place, but it may exacerbate an issue that already exists. That said, I think it is valid to research this on small scale to see overall results then scale up slowly to make sure that it still makes sense.
