In my youth I was focused on achieving the objective and getting to the destination. As I matured, I learned to enjoy the sites along the way, the company in the car/SUV, periodic stops and byways along the way.
As a youth I read Jack Kerouac's "On The Road"

Good Tuesday, July 7, 2020 morning my friend COL Mikel J. Burroughs

Quotes I appreciate
1. Germany Kent 'It is more important to go slow and gain the lessons you need along the journey then to rush the process and arrive at your destination empty.'
2. John Ortberg 'One of the great illusions of our time is that hurrying will buy us more time.'
3. Thomas Carlyle 'Endurance is patience concentrated.'
4. Julius Caesar 'It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.'

Scriptures
a. Psalm 46:10 ESV 'Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!'
b. Ephesians 4: 1-3 'I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.'
c. Galatians 4:16-24 ESV 'But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

I pray LORD that each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who read this prayer are able to walk through this season of COVID-19 infection risk “in a manner worthy of the calling to which” we each “have been called with humility, gentleness, patience and bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace’ [Ephesians 4: 1b-3 ESV] with those closest to us in relationship and proximity.
I pray for wisdom, forthright communication, and an increase in servant leadership for each of the elected leaders, legislators, and appointed officials throughout the USA, as well as Australia, Canada, Mexico, India, Europe, Africa, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Central and South America.
LORD I lift the first responders and others on the front lines of medical triage and police and security personnel responsible for protection, safety, and security. I pray that YOU bless each one with an ability to rest sufficiently, respect for those they work with and encounter, and be able to laugh at themselves without insulting anybody.
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and their loved ones sleep well Tuesday night and shall awake healthy on Wednesday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

LTC Stephen F. - Excellent quotes, comments and thoughts, and the video is perfect for the message today Stephen. Have a great day brother.

"May you always have the patience and determination not to hurry through life and master the ability to make decisions without haste; may you always take the time to have the best possible attitude and have the resilience to face all the uncertainty in our world today; and may you always take the time to give yourself the best care and keep your family strong, safe, and healthy. Master the ability to "Don't Hurry" through life - you only get one chance at each new day, then it's in the past — savor the best of everything!" —COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

In this life we live in the present constantly [except for those with dementia]. God alone has a comprehensive 'view' of all time for every aspect of creation.

Our destination is heaven, my friend and brother-in-Christ SSG Chad Henning and heaven is a perfected relationship with the LORD of creation. We who are HIS shall all experience the perfected relationship with the LORD forever after we shed this mortal coil we call life. Now we see as in a poor reflection and then we shall see face to face. [1 Corinthians 13:12]

"Take time for all things: great haste makes great waste."
Good morning Col Burroughs. We have probably all done this at some point, made that decision in haste that we then regret instead of slowing down to think things through properly. Sometimes we get so frantic to "DO SOMETHING" that we do absolutely the wrong thing. Slow down, breathe, review, decide. Did a virtual counseling on this just in the past 24 hours; the person's second decision was the opposite of the first and a much better one. Fortunately, he didn't put the first one into action.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Great quotes and great advice all the way around this morning Charlie - thank you. Let me leave you with this final thought for today:

I expect that you are able to relax much of the time. I also expect that you, like me, have learned to enjoy and at times endure what the LORD has allowed/ordained for us to walk through. Sometimes HE carries us and other times we lean on HIM for HIS support and comfort Charlie.
I pray that you and I are patient with our family members especially our spouse, other family members and pets we are quarantined with, my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.
