During the year there are points where HR normally takes time off. This may be to allow themselves leave time or it may be to get the books straight but in many companies the amount of hiring drops off. This normally occur in my experience around the 4th of July, Labor Day and Christmas and can last three or four weeks. As someone looking for work don't get down if you send resumes out the last two weeks of August through the first two weeks of September and don't hear back right away. Although Labor Day isn't as big a holiday you may see this slip in recrutement. Don't worry the third week of September you may hear from them all.
