Thought I would pass this along - from an Indonesian friend, Nor, who is a physician, living and working in Indonesia. From December 2021.
Thought it might be of interesting to learn what China's neighbors are thinking, and why, of the U.S.A. and China dancing around being frenemies who are pushing one another too far. U.S. is considered to be goading China. But at what cost - to nations near China, including creating a huge rift between Australia and China which is destructive to both.
It seems to be a response to a "new book by Elbridge Colby, one of the writers of the US National Defense Strategy".
Perhaps Biden's administration will respond to the situation more like the response to Russia, which seems to think attacks are a Civil War with Ukraine.

Ukraine blooding the nose of Russia is a good wake-up call for red China to think twice.
Taiwan is smart to keep all their M60 tanks that they have over the decades and to buy a hundred or so upgraded Abrams Tanks over the next few years.
Buying Javelin anti-tank missiles and hundreds of rounds is only smart because the red Chinese are observing how the Russians are getting their ass kicked in Ukraine by coordinated teams of Javelin missiles.
