Russia's Ultimate Military Dream: A Navy Armed with Big Battleships

LTC (Join to see) It is the paper version of the decoys that were laid about England prior to D-Day. Not to deceive the enemy into moving troops to the wrong place, but the far more useful movement of money into the wrong place. Major problem with that is that even if they had battleships equipped with cruise missiles, they would still lose to the carrier fleets of the west. It would be like using equipping an army with muskets and sending them to take on an army armed with m-16s. Sure it is still a deadly weapon, sure it can still cause harm to the enemy, but in the end the army with the M-16s is going to win. One cannot simply ignore technological advances because one doesn't like them.

Not sure what weapons are available to sink a battleship, but I'm betting we have one on our SSNs that can take it out. If you can be seen, you can be sunk. If we only get involved non-nuclear confrontations, there may be a use for them.
