Thank you my friend SGT (Join to see) for posting the music video of Peter, Paul and Mary performing John Denver's song, which they made famous, 'Leaving On A Jet Plane' at their 25th Anniversary Concert in 1986. .

Leaving on a Jet Plane written by John Denver
Lyrics
"All my bags are packed and I'm ready to go
I'm standin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breaking; it's early morning
The taxi's waiting he's blowing his horn
I'm ready I'm so lonesome I could die.
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe I hate to go
There's so many times I've let you down
So many times I've played around
And tell you that they don't mean a thing
Every place I go, I think of you
Every song I sing, I sing for you
When I come back, I'll wear your wedding ring
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe I hate to go
Now the time is come to leave you
One more time I let me kiss you and
Close your eyes and I'll be on my way
Dream about the days to come when
I won't have to leave alone
About the times that I want have to say
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe I hate to go
I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe I hate to go
I'm leaving on a jet plane
Leaving on a jet plane"

song background ""Leaving on a Jet Plane" is a song written by John Denver in 1966 and most famously recorded by Peter, Paul and Mary. The original title of the song was "Babe, I Hate to Go" but Denver's then producer Milt Okun convinced him to change the title.
The song was initially recorded in 1966 by John Denver with the title "Babe, I Hate to Go." That same year, Denver chose this song along with fifteen others and, with his own money, had 250 copies pressed onto vinyl. He distributed the copies to friends and family. Peter, Paul and Mary were so impressed with the song that they chose to record it themselves and released it on their 1967 Album 1700. Notably, it didn't become a hit for them until they released it as a single in 1969."

Thank you so much Brothers David & Stephen for bringing us this “Classic” PP&M rendition of John Denver’s great writing!
Sad lyrics... but I am sure John might have had a very true sense of it’s actually feeling, when he wrote the song.
Sadly, John passed away at the young age of just fifty-three.
“What more could he have accomplished?....”

I really related to that song at one time. Now I’m happy where I am.
