Integrity sucks sometimes, but in this case the Republicans are right. You cannot deny someone due process and ban them from owning a weapon just off a hunch. The man bought the weapon legally, the ammo legally, and used it in an ignorant way. So to "stop" the next case of this, if there is a "hunch" you can't own a weapon until cleared? I'm no lawyer, but this is going to make some folks on the far left look extremely stupid. If they are on the list and there is CREDIBLE and VERIFIABLE reason to suspect the individual has mens re and weapons, that is for a judge to decide. Not folks who collect data, analyze it, and determine on the fly. Besides if it got to a judge, there's more than likely probable cause to get a search warrant, arrest, or both. Let dedicated and cleared judges decide.

Sgt Tom Cunnally - But that creates problems with the list. It's clearly a means to track "terrorists" but we all know it's a means of tracking Islamic terrorists. As popular as many names are, or how the first and last are the same, what real accuracy is there? And if there is no checks and balances, the FBI may as well dig Hoover up being he did the same thing for decades.

SSG Warren Swan - The list is just a smokescreen IMHO because the Redubs in congress are afraid to vote for gun control. They all have received letters from the NRA that warns if they approve a gun control bill; there will be heavy consequences when they run for re election this fall. The congress needs to work with the NRA & employ the ideas in the Senate Collins Bill to come up with a No Fly list that will pass muster. It takes leadership, coordination and hard negotiating to accomplish this. Why doesn't Obama lead this effort with the congressional leaders instead of sitting on the sidelines and bad mouthing the Republicans?? Dems have also voted no for No Fly No Buy.. Lambast congress and then go campaign for Hillary is not doing the job he was elected to do.
Hell you and I could do a better job than some of these inept congressmen..

Sgt Tom Cunnally - I like what you're saying, but with Obama, it wold galvanize the GOP base to stop everything, and the NRA will put those who worked on this on blast. This time you have to give it to him; it's best he stays clear of this, and allows the congress to make the case, debate it, and THEN get involved when compromise is needed and a signature is "needed". It also shows the public that if congress keeps up the "good work", noting will be done and as usual the finger pointing will go everywhere BUT where it's supposed to be.

SSG Warren Swan - The country wants to see someone, somehow with some intestinal fortitude to take this thing about Gun Control and lead the congress to do something, anything instead of posturing and sit ins.. They are acting like a bunch of college kids who don't like some of their classes or tuition costs "Don't you dare think about restricting our guns and I don't like to wait 14 days to get my name off the No Fly list"....Anonymous Republicans & Gun Lover

If only the bill focused on the 'no fly, no buy' with no other stipulations that has nothing to do with gun control reforms. And the current 14 day appeal decision by a court of law to address the issue for those mistakenly on the list in the first issue. We can only hope.
