"Posted from the NYTimes.com" (a once great newspaper) That should tell you everything, but it doesn't. No simple phrase could prepare you for the snark the is found in the NYTimes, especially when they're doling out "Opinion". Yes, I know. The whole publication is built on opinion, but the front page is opinion presented as news. Imagine then the glee with which they deliver opinion when freed from the shackles of pretense.

I don't think religious belief is inherently political. Instead, I think it's a matter of political parties either embracing or ostracizing religious beliefs. The democrat party has a history of ridiculing Christians, hence why there is a religious right and not a religious left. There's a saying that while people may forget what you did or what you said, they won't forget how you made them feel.
