On Bases in Germany, Air Conditioning a Rare Luxury as Temperatures Near 100 Degrees

Barracks in Okinawa used to be pretty hot. Most bases have new barracks with central A/C now. We had a standing floor fan, slept in skivvies and no sheets, and still woke up in pool of sweat. Nothing compared to what the guys in WWII endured there.

With the Heat I expect to see the Jungle Fog I Remember seeing at Okinawa. The Humidity is Ridiculous and I don't Know How Long before I will be able to Fish. Still Way to Muddy.

Given the generally cool days I experienced when stationed in Ansbach, Germany, I think the heat is endurable. I lived in Las Vegas for five years without air conditioning. I slept in the 110 degrees in the sleeping tent at 2 a.m. and lived. It is unpleasant, but endurable. Although I hate the heat, I have learned to survive. I wish a short duration to the heatwave for those who endure it.
