Former patrons of Summit Station say the Columbus bar was once busy every night of the week — full of people playing pool, shooting darts and plotting feminist revolutions.
“Ladies Night, Every Night. Men $5,” declared a sign posted outside.
Summit Station earned its reputation as a safe space for lesbians and queer people when trumpet player Petie Brown sought part-time work behind the bar in 1970.
An out lesbian, her presence attracted scores of other lesbian women, trans and queer people.

I am actually glad they have a safe place to go, I really would just like them to leave me and everyone else that does not choose that lifestyle alone.
Get in my face and try to tell me I have to accept you and you may not like my response.
--- Are there people trying to "convert" you into being LGBTQIA? No. So I'm not sure where anyone is "in your face" at all. I guarantee you those people don't want to be around you if you're just going to tolerate their existence. I have never once had anyone in the LGBTQIA community come up to my door to solicit or stop me on the street to harass me about their beliefs. I have had so called Christians try to solicit at my door, or stop me on the street or on the sidewalk or in the hospital and harass me with pamphlets. Or all these "Christians" who protest outside clinics that provide abortion as one of many services and they harass the people going in.
This has nothing to do with "safe places" it says historical markers will be put up to recognize historial aspects of those places that deal with LGBTQIA and its place in history. I'll take you it you didn't even read the headline let alone the article.
It's also not a "choice." If it is - when did you "choose" to be heterosexual? Why did you "choose" to be heterosexual? If you chose it that means you have homosexual tendencies right? By your "logic."
