Whether or not the words came from Obama himself, the information in the article is very much true. We can very well see the divide here on RallyPoint, and other social media outlets. Guys, listen to each other, don't just form your own bubble and expect others to change. Both ends have to work together towards a better change. Before that, we bust all understanding each other first.

President Obama continues with the argument that the Democrats have the right answers but the wrong messaging. I think it is impossible for him to believe that someone can honestly disagree with him, so they must misunderstand him. I've actually read all of his books except the one he wrote for his daughters. I fully understand his positions. I fundamentally disagree with his positions of the role of government in our private lives, in the economy, and in his perception of the United States role in the world. My disagreement isn't based on right-wing media. It is based on what he wrote in his books.

IMHO the divide stems from many of us, RP included and on the Left and Right, not knowing what it is to be gracious. Very few people know what it is to be a gracious winner or a gracious loser. It's all about making your opponent capitulate and to grind your foe into the ground and making him/her acknowledge and proclaim it for the world to see, if for nothing more than our own aggrandizement. To caveat (shudder) on what SrA Edward Vong said, we all want to be heard but we don't want to listen to anyone. We don't want to give anyone's opinion or feeling the same respect or consideration as ours but demand our opinion or feeling be respected.
Once again, for those in the cheap seats, respect goes up AND comes down. The sooner all of us that are or did serve apply that standard to all things, the sooner we can start bridging this divide and others.
