It's inevitable. My personal prediction is that within 100 years, all warfighting capabilities will be drones -- ships, aircraft, land vehicles (tanks). So of course LEO's were always going to want in on the drone game. I asked RP about this very thing some time ago. Here's the link if you want to see the responses from that thread:

Given the unprecedented (in policing) use of a robot to blow up last night's shooter (something I'm wholly on board with, he needed to be put down, and no more cops needed hurting to do it), do you think this moves us closer to police drones having the ability to snipe criminals? Would you be on board with that, or is that too much? What say you, RP members?
