Oh like “tracers” any time you were selected for point man in our company,your first magazine was tracers,so on contact those behind had a general idea where to fire,a couple of disadvantages,made your location known to the bad guys and the weapon got fouled,although with our M16A1s you were lucky to get off a few rounds before jamming anyway, Welcome Home Brothers

MAJ Dale E.Wilson,Ph.D.- I actually started out carrying the M79,but traded with a guy in my platoon,bad move ,did get to keep the .45 though ,good move ,came in handy when my “Mattel” piece of junk jammed,also had a .38 bought from an MP in Tuy Hoa early in my tour,extra insurance is always good to have,be well Brother.
