Part One (1)
NASA's Mars Ingenuity 'Copter completed its 11th flight on Thursday, August 5, 2021... I am posting this information in two parts as Physics Insight has posted on news segment, which did not include the actual timed flight images of Ingenuity, but sort of used the preliminary flight notification footage... Although this is technically correct information, it did leave out the imaging of the actual flight... Here is the Physics Insight video description:
Physics Insight
Mars Ingenuity helicopter completed its 11th Red Planet flight on Thursday: August 5, 2021. The little chopper travelled 1,250 feet (380 meters) to a new loction in South Séítah, a rugged patch of ground on the floor of Mars' Jezero Crater to support the Perseverance rover by obtaining imagery of geologic features in the "South Seítah" area.
Ingenuity lifted off three minutes later at 12:47 a.m. EDT (0447 GMT) on Earth. The flight was designed to see the helicopter climb to an altitude of 39 feet (12 m) and reach speeds of 11 mph (18 kph).
NASA's Ingenuity Mars Helicopter acquired these images using its navigation camera. This camera is mounted in the helicopter's fuselage and pointed directly downward to track the ground during flight. These images were acquired on Aug. 5, 2021 (Sol 163 of the Perseverance rover mission).
