Complicated situation with some drugs being legal in some states. Not a fan of drug use combined with gun ownership

Marijuana is still illegal in all 50 states. It is still a federal schedule I drug. And since this is a federal crime, the federal rules apply.
People keep saying weed is legal here and there. It is not. It is illegal in the entire US. Just because it is no longer a state crime, and/or the state will not enforce the federal crime does NOT mean it is legal.

Link goes to a completely different story (related to the same shooting, but totally different story).
I was hoping for a story with more details about this strange headline. Perhaps Virginia has some state law against using marijuana while owning a firearm, but I doubt it. Most states echo the federal statue which includes a lifetime ban on possessing firearms if someone has ever used marijuana (a law which has been thrown out in at least one federal court)
