Btw, I followed all the rules and never rode at night or evening hours. I rode as a car which is what we should do. Wore vest and had lights on bike. The man stated he didn’t see me! It was 9:30am in morning and as stated had on jacket and lights flashing.

I’ve seen bikers do some crazy things. Even had one run a red light while visiting in Florida and I had to hit brakes hard to keep from hitting him. I was going about 50 MPH. I’ve seen them run stop signs but I do think most cyclist obey the rules.

On 8/19/20, I was hit while cycling. I vowed to do more to help make roads safer for cyclist. This is a reminder that I need to do my part because I lived to be able to tell my story.

I was one of the lucky ones who walked away with minor injuries. I just knew I would land and have broken bones if not paralyzed because I was struck in spine. No broken bones nor fractures. BUT I did suffer with torn rotator cuff (all my weight landed on shoulder) and 4 bulging cervical disc. 14 months under doctor car and 2 surgeries on shoulder.

I need to do more!!! And I’m never getting back on the road, only trails for me. I don’t have 9 lives!!

I see cyclist often breaking traffic laws that probably lead to some of their deaths, red lights and stop signs are for everyone not just cars, and then riding at night without lights and or reflectors is just asking to get hit.
