Thanks for mentioning and honoring USMC fighter ace Gregory “Pappy” Boyington who was awarded both the Medal of Honor and Navy Cross as he led the Black Sheep Squadron to victory during World War II SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.

Col Boyington was a true hero. He had been temporarily promoted to LtCol as a POW and then promoted to full Col before retiring from the USMC in 1947.

Sounds like a man's man. Doubt you'd read anything like that from our men and women serving today! It's sad to lose such a man to something like cancer, but we can only be thankful that such a man lived.
