This is the problem I have with this practice "None of these jobs was advertised to the public. More than a third were hired before they officially retired, and more than half started their civilian careers within a pay period after taking off their uniform, an indication that no one competed with them for the job."
OK, that's bullsh**. As a Vet they have the Vet Pref points but to nudge out all competition is something I cannot stomach.

Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin - The main issue I have is "None of these jobs was advertised to the public." I copied and pasted the rest of the quote as a matter of context.

I get that and this sounds concerning. However, I also wonder if this is accurate.

Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin Alright Sir, you're making it difficult to enjoy my indignant rage fest with your open minded pragmatism. Do I need to get a restraining order?

One of the ways they do it is the write the job discription so restrictive that they are the only ones qualified to do it.

Yeah like the only qualified person was the blue suiter who had the job who turns civilian.
