All they need to do is nominate and fast track confirmation of a replacement, and he's gone.
Too easy.

CW4 Guy Butler - Yeah, I saw that.
It is still the right answer if they don't want him there anymore.
The more salient question is why does the Justice Dept want him gone, and that might not have a very good answer.

CW4 Guy Butler NPR, 11 minutes ago. Bye, Bye.

“ Unfortunately, with your statement of last night, you have chosen public spectacle over public service," Barr said in a brief letter to Berman. "Because you have declared that you have no intention of resigning, I have asked the President to remove you as of today, and he has done so."

Barr said that Deputy U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss will step in until a permanent successor is in place. Barr also cited case law to refute Berman's assertion that he cannot be removed until the Senate confirms a replacement.”

MCPO Roger Collins Um, yes. That’s what I posted a few minutes ago from Fox News. Hence the whole “phase two” thingy.

I’m guessing you didn’t read it.

CW4 Guy Butler No, I preferred a source that wouldn’t be disavowed.
